Welcome to the Alert Bay Public Library and Museum
On Cormorant Island, near the northern tip of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
Library membership is free to anyone living on Cormorant Island. Our collection has over 8,866 books. In addition, you can access material from other public libraries in the Province through the Outlook Online program.
Our photo archives have over 7,000 digitized historic and contemporary photographs catalogued and available for public viewing. The catalogue is searchable by key words (year, subject, donor).
If you have historic or current photos of Alert Bay events or people, we would appreciate borrowing them to scan into our database.
Our archives also include a collection of newspapers published in Alert Bay from 1939-1941, 1951-1964 and the more recent North Island Gazette.
